R!COCHETTE!? The [[THUNDER]] Rolls!? And The [[LIGHTNING]] Strikes!? C@N Y0U T@STE IT!?
[xx] The white male canine moved silently through the land. His icy grey orbs focused only on what lay ahead of him, not what lay behind him. His sensitve naires where flaired as he took in the scents of the area. Aerials where forward, listening for any potential sounds that may catch his attention. Dial was low to the ground as he prodded through the snow. He blended in well with the snow, as his fur was white like the fridgid area around him. Paws prodded through the snow as quick as he could. The mountainous terrain was one that he was used to , but one that he felt he needed. Rico felt like this was his chance to become a rular, a leader. He had done so before, but this was an untouched land. Untouched by both canid and equine. He halted for a moment up the semi steep side of the snow covered mountain. His dial lifted from the ground, and turned to see the surroundings. Orbs scanned the horizon line, taking in everything. Snow... Snow.. and... more snow. Oh wait! Wait thats a snow covered bush... The want to be alpha released a discontented sigh. He loved the cold, he loved the snow, but there was no color. Not on this part of the mountain side anyways. He refocused pretty ice-blue-grey orbs on his destination and knew he had to keep climbing. He never gave up on his goals. You can do it, Ricochette. Never give up on your goals. Head was lowered once again towards the frozen turf as he continued to plow through the deep snow. The only color that he knew of, was the tips of his aerials and his tail. His paws where burried by the almost two feet deep snow.
[xx] Rico knew that there was more to this territory than the steep mountain, but he had to proove something to himself. If he could make the top of this mountain, he was worthy of being an alpha of this fridgid, yet beautiful, land. Orbs focused in as something moved across the top of the snow. His aerials darted up, carrying his dial with him. Sensitive nairs took in the scent of the invading creature. It was small, yes, he knew not what it was. It interested the male. He could move like stealth through the snow, because his coat blended in, but his midnight ears would give him away. Ricochette flattened dark aerials against light fur and lowered his body against the fridgid turf. Orbs focused in solely on the small animal. Food... Rico thought. When it came to life as a wolf, any food you could find, small or large, you wanted it. Whether it was to store it away for winter, or to eat it then, it was always a good idea. Rico's tail extended out behind him to sturdy himself as he lowered himself lower to the terrain. Eyes narrowed, he was set on the prey. What is a squirrel doing up here? The small grey squirrel did not seem to have spotted him yet, that was, until a light growl escaped his jowles. The animal looked at him, chattering something, before darting off. Damn... The brute muttered. He gave no chase, as the squirrel could run a top the snow, and he within the semi frozen barrier. He snorted as the animal ran off, depriving him of anouther meal. Why must this mountain still be covered in snow in the spring time? He snorted to himself, bringing narrowed eyes back towards the ground.
[***] Stupid animals. I can't let them get the best of me. There has to be something at the top of this mountain. He let out anouther sigh, knowing that his journey may take more out of him than he had offered. The brute turned his dial to look behind him. His tracks led a long ways, but he had only gone half of the journey. A deep exhale had caused icy breath to escape into the air. He watched it float away, as his orbs carried to the rest of his land. It was not all snow. A lake lay not far from the bottom of the mountain. He half thought about turning around and giving up, and then turned back around, letting anouther growl escape his jowles. Don't be stupid Rico. You Can't quit. At this comment, he took anouther look at his destination, and he went. Effort was pushed to a run for the large male. As fast as he could run through the deep snow. Crystals where clinging to his fur, stinging as few of the crystals had stung his skin. Panting as he trudged on, he watched solely the ground.
[****] One last bound brought the male to a flat surface. Eyes closed, he had landed in a laying down position. Breaths escaped him, his breath clearly visable, as he recaptured his strength. The cold had not hurt him, it was that he was so determined , SO determined, to make it to the top, that he had not let himself rest on the way up. He leveraged himself back onto all four paws and opened his eyes. Scanning the scenery, he loved it. Sure, everything was still covered in the wanna be ice pellets, but there was hope. This was where he wanted to stay. Trees grew from the ground, covered in snow, but underneath them, where the snow could not get through the branches, was green. Grass! Grass means life! Grass means hope! Rico's intentions picked up. He knew now, that this place was not just a snow covered mountain top, it was a place of life. He saw a river running off it, obviously where a glacier had melted as the weather warmed.
[*****] Rico knew now what he had to do, it was instinct to the male. He sat his rump down, lifted his dial, and parted his jowles. A beautiful song echoed upon the mountain, bouncing off the cliffs nearbye. His orbs closed as the song continued to fill the air. A beautiful song it was. A song of hope. A song of Life. A song of the future, a song that said This is my home now, I own this land. Rico was making a call to claim the land, to let all others who have tried, to let all others know, that this was his. He would allow others to join him in making the lives of all wolves better. He was not prejudices, he loved everybody equally. After the call had echoed all throughout the valley, his jowles closed, and his head lowered again, allowing icey orbs to reopen. The new alpha sighed in content. Welcome home, Ricochette. He took anouther look over the land, allowing orbs to take in all that was now his.

It felt familiar here, perhaps that was why it didn't bother Areo to be wading through pockets of snow during the springtime months? Of course this sort of weather was what Areo was born and bred for. Warm springs were nice but hot, long and humid summers were torture. The cool winds blowing around the mountain slopes were pleasant retreats from such things as humidity and constant beating sunlight. Contrary to popular belief, just because his fur was white did not make up for the fact that it was made for insulation and was quite thick. It held a lot of body heat and at times, summers in his chosen wandering grounds were simply too impossible to endure and ended in ailment on his part. Here however, Areo felt distinct comfort from the cool winds and pockets of lingering snow that never fully melted from the mountainside. Pausing to enjoy the breeze, Areo raised his sightless teal eyes toward the sky, breathing deeply. Mountain air was always so clean and clear, it was truly wonderful to smell again.
Taking a deep breath through his nose this time, Areo survayed his surroundings as best he could. He had sent his companion, Sarah off to hunt for herself, promising to find a place to stop and wait for her but now he wished he had her eyes. Being blind in a mountain area he didn't know was dangerous but Areo was simply unable to resist the temptation of it. Prey scents tickled his nose, tempting him to hunt and making his stomach growl unhappily at the decision to wait. Ignoring the internal protest, Areo took a few steps forward before coming to a stop again. Something was nearby, prey. Areo's mouth watered and his stomach growled again, making him wish he had gotten a chance to hunt sooner. It was dangerous here as it was.
Currently he was standing on a mountain path wide enough for three wolves to walk comfortably side by side but, beyond the path was a steep drop several yards down. Hunting was dangerous with sight much less without it but...his potential prey smelled of blood. It was wounded.
For once putting caution to the wind, Areo ran forward, dodging a boulder he sensed looming near. Loose pebbles skidded under his paws but his footing remained sure. The musty smell of sheep filled his nostrils. Growling hungrily, Areo lunged. The sheep had been laying in brittle mountainside plants and scrambled up at Areo's approach. Bleating in its strange language, the sheep dodged Areo.
Landing awkwardly, Areo scrambled for balance and lunged again to save himself from falling. This time, cornered, the sheep met his charge. Blunt bone horns thudded against Areo's chest tossing him backward. Areo was winded instantly but, he felt earth shifting and suddenly the ground seemed to be gone, slanting dangerously as he tumbled downward. A distant howl barely registered in Areo's mind but when it did, he let out his own horrified howl knowing Sarah would never hear it but someone else was near. He rolled and tumbled down the crevice until he hit solid earth again.
Completely winded, Areo went limp, panting unevenly. His foggy eyes were half lidded, blood on his jaws and seeping through his fur from cuts from the roll down the mountainside into the crevice.

Sarah saw a large moose ahead of her, she saw it was a young bull, yet with a rack of antlers like a mature bull. She shook off the confusion of his false age and got low to the ground. She started her lunge and the the young bull fleed. Soon realizing it couldn't out run her, it faced Sarah to fight. Sarah was taken by surprise, but decided to give it a go. Then the air vibrated with Areo's howls and yelps. Areo! her beautiful voice sounded for several miles, the wind carrying her holler of worry to his ears.
Sarah was off guard and distracted enough that she didn't feel the vibrations of the charging moose. It rammed her side with it's antlers and slammed her into a tree. She barked on first contact, and yelped when she hit the tree. She bared her teeth and lunged for the top of it's throat, but she couldn't reach as it continued to push her into the tree. She claws at it's head and it backed up dizzly. Weak and injured, Sarah went limp as well.
Her paw was fractured, and her right hip broken. Two ribs were cracked. She blacked out from the pain and the injuries, her adrenaline kicked in soon after and the pain disappeared. But after awhile, the adrenaline was running low and the pain returned. The pain was strong enough to jolt her back awake. The bull was gone and the sky was dark and full of stars. When she was knocked uncontious, it was early morning. She felt the pain, but felt the need to get back to Aero. She felt heavy vibrations in the ground and immediatly knew what was coming her way.
Sarah played dead as a large male grizzly came to investigate. He sniffed her seemingly lifeless body. He nudged her with his paw a few times, seeing if Sarah was really dead. Getting no response from the fae, the bear lost intrest. It moved on and soon it's step vibrations disappeared. Sarah 'came back to life' and struggled to her feet. She moaned with every step as she finally made it back.
She saw Areo and limped over to him quickly. She had cuts and bruises all over her. It wasn't Sarah's intention to get herself hurt like this. She sighed as she nuzzled him and lied down. Wow, those moose are like bears... dangerous. she managed to say with her weak frame. She lied her head down at Areo's paws and fell into a deep sleep.

R!COCHETTE!? D0 Y0U H3R3 TH@T!? TH3 ST0RM !S COM!NG!? AR3 Y0U R3ADY TO T@K3 !T!? Aerials flickered as he heard a sound from the mountain. It seemed to be talking back to him, answering his call as new found alpha of the fridgid northern territory. Glacier Peak. He spoke, his masculine voice seeming to humm off the peak. He stood up on all four limbs, breathing in through his naires, taking in all the scents. Its good to be home, finaly. The snow white brute seemed to be answering himself. The black tip of his tail flicked back and forth, a sure sign of happiness from the rather content male. He was alpha of his new found lair, but one question lay on his mind. When would a pack gather under my rule? When would my future alphess come into my life? When would my genes be passed to a future generation of kings? He let these questions echo in his mind as he released a contented sigh. he closed his orbs, and let the cool breeze wave his fur in the wind.
Attention them was turned to a knew sound. A growl from the side of the mountain. He jolted to the edge of the cliff. A small avalanch had taken place on his mountain, and to one, or even two, creatures, it would feel rather large. A terrified howl registered in his mind. Someone was in trouble, on my land! I have to help them. He let anouther howl, shorter than his last call, but letting the message across that he was coming. He jumped from the edge, landing as far out as he could. Powerful limbs helped him bound through the snow. He could sense whoever was in trouble, anouther wolf. He could smell the blood and terror that lay with him. He could also smell a Fae, not far off. Rico did not stop for a minute, and then he caught glimpse of who it was. As he began his run towards the wolf who was in peril, they fell. Unintentionaly, Rico let anouther short howl. He trudged through the snow and made it to the edge of the crevice where he had fallen. The wolf looked rather beat up. Something was different about him. The scent from the wolf was definatly male. Hello. My name is Ricochette, I am the alpha of this land, and I am going to help you out, so don't struggle, alright? Rico then noticed that he could not get down there with out falling himself. He had to find a way to help him out. I will return, don't worry. The sky was getting dark and full of stars, and Rico was begining to get heavy lidded as he trudged back up to the top of the mountain, to find a large branch or something.
The brute walked beanth the tree where there was no snow beaneath it and yawned. Before he knew what he was doing, his legs went limp and he laid down, orbs closed. Mabey just a little... nap. And then he was out. Thoughts drifting though his mind, thoughts of the new land that he now ruled over. Thoughts of many things. Thoughts of summer, and when much of the snow would melt. What would his terrain look like beanth all the snow? He wondered these thoughts that he kept solely to himself. One last thought crossed his mind ; The wolf who had fallen into the crevice on the side of the mountain. That thought made Rico awaken and jump to his feet. The air was light, the sun was out. Oh snap. Rico lunged forwards, running all his might. He had left the wolf there over night! He could be dead. In his critical state. Had Rico left anouther wolf to die? His addreniline was pumping hard, he followed the path he had made the day before down to where the wolf had fallen. He was moving father than he ever had.
He skidded to a fast halt before the edge and peered over. Anouther wolf was laying in there with him, female, and she was hurt badly too. Rico was out of breath. Are you two all right? He gave them no chance to answer. Im going to get you out, hang on. He jumped into the crevice sliding down the side of it, landing beside the two wolves. By the way the males eyes looked, he appeared blind. Before I move you, where are you hurt? He looked between the female and the male, waiting for there answers. His blue grey orbs where intent on rescuing them both.

Areo felt disoriented and dizzy. Without the ground under him, Areo would be sure he couldn't tell which direction was up or down. It was similar to the frightening discomfort he felt while under water, senses deadened and disoriented to the point where he felt almost completely blind. Being blind by sight, unlike some popular opinions, did not make him completely blind. No. Areo had experienced being truly blind and it was a frightening thing. He had once fallen into a river and nearly died because he could no longer breathe, hear, see or feel. Such total sensory deprivation had nearly been the end of him until a wolf pack nearby heard him fall and helped to fish him out. Never before had Areo come so close to death as he did on that day. Ever since then he had avoided disorientation as often as he could, dodging water and not crossing rivers but he had never really had a problem with falling over the side of a cliff. It seemed that was also advisable to be avoided when at all possible. Yes, definitely something he did not care to repeat.
A scent tickled at Areo's nose, interrupting his scattered thoughts. Blinking, Areo remembered blinking did no good when it came to clearing his vision. Instead, he flared his ears desperately for sound. Rock shifting and scraping, something sliding toward him, an excited heartbeat or maybe it was panicked?
' Hello. My name is Ricochette, I am the alpha of this land, and I am going to help you out, so don't struggle, alright? I will return, don't worry.'
A good attempt a reassurance but not the best Areo had ever heard. He tried to raise his head, make a sound, reply, move, anything. Pain flared when his head moved, aches he had not felt coming to life with vengeance. Usually having a good endurance for pain, the sudden flare of bodily aches drew a thin whine from the Arctic wolf. Deciding to give up on raising his head, Areo went limp again. He wasn't really aware of when the other male left him to silence and solitude again. Areo had no real sense of time either seeing as he could not look up at the sky to find the sun or stars. The only indicator for him was the temperature. It was slipping downward as the sun retreated below the horizon and now Areo thanked nature for his thick coat. The last thing he needed was to be cold and add to his own discomfort.
Maybe he slept or maybe he simply wasn't paying any attention to anything anymore when something touched his head. A very quiet half whine rose from him at the touch. There was blood dried on the inside of one of his ears from hitting the ground but thankfully his hearing was intact so, Areo used it. He could hear a heartbeat next to him, the sound of someone speaking but he was too tired to understand and the sound of fur moving. Breathing in the chilly evening air, Areo found blood on the wind and...Sarah's scent. It was Sarah. How'd she'd gotten down into the crevice was a mystery to Areo the same as when Rico did it but , he couldn't see the crevice. Maybe it had a way down and he'd just missed it?
Trying to get his addled thoughts together, Areo tried to move only to find the pains still there. The side he was laying on probably had several bruised ribs and the cuts from stone stung sharply though they felt like most of them had stopped bleeding. Just as Areo was able to raise his head without whimpering, he caught the male scent again, close by. He would really need to pay more attention or he was going to get himself and Sarah killed.
'Are you two all right? I'm going to get you out, hang on. Before I move you, where are you hurt?'
Areo leaned forward, sniffing at the male, desperate for something to ground himself to that was alive and well. Also he needed to know this help wouldn't turn them into slaves or get them killed.
"She can't hear you" Areo rasped, coughing slightly and nodding in Sarah's general direction. "She's deaf and..I don't think she's awake."
